Apologies for the lack of a post yesterday, I had no signal in Alfriston or Berwick (where we had short stops) and it was generally quite a busy day!
I slept really well but I think I was the only one! From what other people told me it was bitterly cold and there was also quite a lot of chattering (teeth and talk!).
David Mott was up early and followed up yesterday's extra curricular stroll to the sea with a walk up the hill this morning. Must be mad!
Most of us started to rise from about 7am onwards. Breakfast was porridge with hot milk, raisins and golden syrup and, after a bit of attempted washing up, we saddled up and walked out just after 9am.
We followed the South Downs Way north to Westdean and then in to Alfriston for a rest and biscuits.
We pushed on to Berwick then via Berwick station to Arlington Reservoir, arriving about 1.20pm.
We'd been mostly very lucky with weather and treated to some glorious scenery. All the Scouts achieved there goal but I for one had some aches and pains afterwards (and still do today!). I hope everyone had fun and pleaase return the kit, plus any outstanding £10 payments, after half term.
