Day 6 - Snow & Ice and Allmenalp Hike

Our over 14s, with Helen and Matt, were up about 6.30am and had to meet their pinky at 7.30am to head off up to Frundenhutte for the Snow & Ice workshop. I'm sure we'll hear all about that from them tomorrow when they return. The under 14s had a lie in till 8am but we still had to wake them up! We gave them breakfast then at 10.30am we headed down towards the town and up on the Allmenalp cable car. Not good for me, I hate heights! We did this hike in 2009 and could see nothing due to the low cloud base but today we had amazing views. We could see all the way across the valley and all kinds of flora. We took it easy and only returned to base about 3pm. Ian and I took the kids down into town to spend some money then back up to make dinner; being 2 leaders down makes it a bit more of a rush for the rest of us. Evening of games and noise! I will get some photos on here at some point... promise!
